Got my sweet kitty from here recently. She’s super healthy and doing great, staff is really nice as well. Definitely would come back if adopting another animal. facility is really nice :)
I adopted a kitten from this shelter through a foster. The kitten I received had fleas, really bad stomach issues, was completely underweight. I was told she was completely healthy.
When she was 2 months old the foster came to my house to take the kitten to get fixed, she called me after and told me the surgery went well and she was going to pick up Strudel, she comes to the door and gives the cat back and says they mixed up the kittens and strudel didn’t actually get fixed.
She was there, ALL DAY.
Strudel was so SCARED, she pooped all over herself, I didn’t feel comfortable taking her back to that vet after what happened, 600 dollars later after taking her to a real vet, multiple times, she is a healthy kitten.
They never called me back about getting her fixed, when I asked the foster to take her back so she could get looked at she told me I was on my own. I love my new pet, she’s my world but this was completely unprofessional, they charged me $150 for an unhealthy kitten and then never even fixed her.
She’s still not fixed, I would really like someone to call me so we can come to a resolution
I added a before and after picture so you can see how tiny she was (I’m not a cat expert but I know she was underweight)
I Love strudel, but being lied to by the foster and or the shelter is inexcusable.
Great place to get your next pet! Go check it out or volunteer! They make it easy to sign up and help out even if you can’t adopt!
We recently adopted a cat from here. Love their new facility! Clean and. Great layout! Their process is also great! You are able to pick animals to meet and spend time with in little rooms, and their adoption process is streamline. I definitely recommend if you are looking to add a pet to your family!
What a wonderful great facility! Had a birthday party here for 16 y/o. Jordan was wonderful. The girls were able to have playtime with pets/ find out information for volunteer services and love on the animals! It was a perfect day for animal lovers. The facility is just amazing.
Really clean place and friendly staff. If you’re looking for wellness appointments, it’s hard to schedule because they book quick. If you happen to schedule and need to reschedule, good luck. No one picks up the phones.
Got all my kitties spayed here. Intake was chaotic but pretty expected. Ladies at the desk were very nice and got us in even though we were a little late getting the appointments set up. Aftercare instructions were very clear and my kitties are healing up perfectly
I picked up my sweet Ducky girl yesterday! Absolutely thrilled with how wonderful Athens Area Humane Society is! Adoption process was smooth, and love how nice the people there were! You guys helped this adorable baby find her forever home with me!!
I go here because of affordability. I liked it much better when it first opened this location. Now they take your dog out of the room... Then the assistant returns with your dog and tells you what the vet said... No ability to be with your dog during a shot or exam. No ability to ask any questions of the vet.. Nothing.
this place is awful — I had called to help a family member surrender a cat and the lady told me “Yes we have an opening coming up and we usually like to take back animals who have been here before too.” This cat was adopted from them, we …
